Solar water distillation is one of the most efficient, economical and simple for purifying dirty water, this is because it uses renewable energy. Many researchers are perfecting the distillation for its effectiveness. In this study, it was carried out by adding a layer of sand with the aim of increasing the distillation results. It was carried out with variations in the addition of sand layers of 20 mm, 40 mm, and 60 mm. The study was conducted in August 2024 located at STT Ronggolawe. The results showed that there was an increase of 5.5% in distillation with a 20 mm sand layer, a 12% increase in distillation with a 40 mm sand layer, and a 23.6% increase in distillation with a 60 mm sand layer when compared to without an sand layer.
