One way to overcome this problem is to establish a Waste School. Therefore, the PPK Ormawa Team of BEM AKPRIND University, in collaboration with Proklim Bandala Abyudaya located in Sendangsari Pengasih Kulon Progo Village, established a Waste School named Sekolah Sampah Bantala Abyudaya (Kolah Banyu). The purpose of establishing Kolah Banyu is to provide education on environmental conservation and waste management and to be a place where students and the general public can try waste management methods such as recycling, composting, and other methods. The method used to establish Kolah Banyu consists of four stages: 1) Preparation; 2) Coordination meeting; 3) Assistance in preparing the management of the Waste School; 4) Proposal for the establishment of Kolah Banyu, and 5) Approval of the Kolah Banyu institution. The issuance of the Kolah Banyu institutional decree and the inauguration of the management by the Sendangsari Village Head was the beginning of the operation of Kolah Banyu. The establishment of Kolah Banyu also received extraordinary support from the Kulon Progo Environmental Service, the Head of Sendangsari Village, and Kampung Berseri Astra (KBA), which was formed by Astra Indonesia, which is committed to continuing to accompany Kolah Banyu in realizing its vision and mission.
Joko Winarno, Alan Prima Yoga, Nafisa Ananda Zahra, Niza Faradila, Yohana Cristine Simbolon, Habib Eky Manggala, Anisa Fitriana Ambarwati, Tsabit Faiz Al Faruq, Emy Setyaningsih Copyright (c) 2024 DHARMA BAKTI https://ejournal.akprind.ac.id/index.php/dharma/article/view/4872 Wed, 30 Oct 2024 00:00:00 +0800 Pemanfaatan Mesin Pencacah Plastik pada Bank Sampah di Salakan Bangunharjo Kabupaten Bantul https://ejournal.akprind.ac.id/index.php/dharma/article/view/4905
Recycling is one way to manage plastic waste. If recycled, plastic waste in the form of bottles, glasses or other plastic waste has a fairly high selling value. The waste bank in Salakan Bangunharjo Bantul has been quite engaged in the plastic waste processing business. One of the activities of this waste bank is to collect and sort plastic waste from the community, but it has not been maximized because of space constraints and also does not have a plastic waste shredder. Therefore, the Abdimas Team from the Department of Environmental Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, AKPRIND University Indonesia, designed and made a plastic waste shredding machine. The method carried out is to conduct plastic waste management training through waste banks, the use and maintenance of plastic waste shredding machines and the delivery of plastic waste shredding machines. The purpose of this service activity is so that the waste bank in Salakan can carry out the plastic waste recycling process optimally, so that it can increase the economic value of the plastic waste. The capacity of this plastic waste shredder is 20 Kg/hour using a gasoline motor as a propulsion, and has specifications of 66 cm in length, 38.5 cm in width and 80 cm in height. Based on the results of the survey using questionnaires, this service activity can be said to be successful because community members, especially members and administrators of waste banks in Salakan, have become more aware of the benefits of plastic waste sorting, the operation and maintenance of plastic waste shredders, and positively assess and agree with this community service activity.
Yuli Pratiwi, Joko Waluyo, Hadi Saputra, Nidia Lestari Copyright (c) 2024 DHARMA BAKTI https://ejournal.akprind.ac.id/index.php/dharma/article/view/4905 Wed, 30 Oct 2024 00:00:00 +0800 Pengolahan Limbah Tempe dan Kotoran Sapi Menjadi Biogas Dan Pupuk Organik Cair di Kampung Cilokotot Kapupaten Bandung https://ejournal.akprind.ac.id/index.php/dharma/article/view/4989
Cilokolot Village, RT 02 RW 02, Margahayu Selatan, Bandung Regency, is a densely populated area where traditional tempeh production occurs. In this village, there are two small-scale tempeh factories involving seven artisans, processing approximately 700 kg of soybeans daily. This study focuses on one factory, which is smaller and utilizes traditional technology, with a production capacity of 200 kg per day and firewood as its fuel source. The tempeh production process consists of boiling, soaking, separating, washing soybeans, fermenting, and packaging, which generates significant volumes of liquid waste. One of the tempeh artisans also has a livestock farm with ten cattle, fifteen goats, and a few turkeys, ducks, and chickens. Waste from tempeh and animal manure is often discharged directly into rivers and vacant land, leading to air, soil, and water pollution, which poses health risks. Biogas energy is produced through microbial processing of organic waste, such as vegetable scraps, fruit peels, leftover rice, livestock manure, and tempeh waste. The main components of biogas are methane and carbon dioxide. The objectives of this study are: 1) to educate artisans on the negative impacts of tempeh waste and livestock manure on the environment; 2) to install a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) for managing tempeh waste and cattle manure; 3) to provide training and support for processing tempeh waste and animal manure into biogas and Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF); and 4) to conduct training on the application of LOF to crops. The methods employed include outreach, training, technology implementation, ongoing support, and evaluation. The results indicate that: 1) artisans actively participated in socialization sessions addressing the negative impacts of tempeh waste and livestock manure; 2) the WWTP for tempeh waste and cattle manure has been successfully installed on land provided by the artisans; 3) training and support for operating the WWTP resulted in the successful production of biogas and LOF, which provide added value and benefits; and 4) training on the application of LOF to demonstration plots has been conducted, with enthusiastic participation from the artisans.
Galu Murdikaningrum, Lia Muliati, Rini Sitawati Copyright (c) 2024 DHARMA BAKTI https://ejournal.akprind.ac.id/index.php/dharma/article/view/4989 Wed, 11 Dec 2024 00:00:00 +0800 Pelatihan Pengolahan Limbah Kulit Pisang Menjadi Minuman Susu Di Daerah Transmigrasi Lokal Kabupaten Bantul https://ejournal.akprind.ac.id/index.php/dharma/article/view/4935
Karangtengah Area, Imogiri District, Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, is a Transmigration Location that is fostered by the Bantul Regency Manpower and Transmigration Office.
