Abstract

The learning process that is interesting and of interest to students is important.
Based on observations, it is known that there are problems in the History Subject in class
X AKL 1 SMK Negeri 2 Magelang. The students are less interested in following the lessons
that have an impact on the test results below the standard value. This classroom action
research aims to evaluate whether the application of group investigation methods can
increase students' interest in learning. This research was conducted in the History Subject
of class X AKL 1 SMK Negeri 2 Magelang in the 2018/2019 academic year. The research
was carried out in two cycles, each of which was carried out through planning,
implementing, observing, and reflecting procedures. Data collection was carried out using
observation, interviews, tests, and document studies. The data were analyzed qualitatively
and quantitatively. The results of this study indicate that the Group Investigation method
can increase students' interest in learning in History subjects. Students are also more
actively involved in the learning process.
